Best Place to Play Golf in Palm Spring

There are over 100 golf courses in the Palm Springs area, which makes it one of the best places in the world to play golf. The beautiful oasis in the desert features mountain views, palm trees and more. Some of the country’s most scenic and renowned golf courses are located here.

Many of the golf courses in Palm Springs are private clubs. However, there are still a number of great public golf clubs to choose from as well. Many of the leading golf courses are part of luxurious golf resorts. However, there are a couple that are owned by municipalities that are quite affordable but can be expensive for people visiting from out of town. Many golfers consider Palm Springs to be one of the best places to play golf, especially in the winter.

La Quinta Resort & Club

This luxurious resort is a Waldorf Astoria property. It features two golf courses designed by Pete Dye, the Dunes and the Mountain, along with two other nearby golf courses at PGA West Stadium. One of the highlights is the “Alcatraz,” which is an infamous par-3 island green hole designed by Dye. Resort guests are able to play the Greg Norman Resort and Jack Nicklaus Tournament courses located at PGA West.

Indian Wells Golf Resort

Located in the city of Indian Wells, this is a 36-hole municipal golf course that has formed partnerships with four resorts in the area to offer stay and play golf in Palm Springs opportunities. The Celebrity and Players golf courses are often referred to as “Beauty and the Beast.” The Celebrity Course features engaging water holes and plenty of rolling play. The Players Course is just as attractive as the Celebrity but is much more complex. The greens offer many makeable putts, but getting to them in the first place is another matter entirely, with long distance, demanding and deep bunkers, and plenty of navigational challenges to contend with.

Other Palm Spring Golf Courses

There are many other opportunities for enjoyable golf in Palm Springs. They include the Desert Willow Golf Resort, Shadow Ridge Golf Club, Escena Golf Club, SilverRock Resort, Rancho Palmas Resort, and more.
